A little structure, a lot of support
Our family group offers a time-tested, peer-led format designed to ensure that everyone's voice is heard.
Small-group discussion
The size of a group lends itself to discussion of sensitive subjects.
Lived experience, elevated
Trained facilitators are also family members of individuals with mental health conditions..
Guidance to go
NAMI’s principles of support provide scaffolding for the meeting, but also touchstones for the week ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions
We understand — there’s a lot to take in with all of this.
All NAMI programs are offered at no cost to participants.
You’ll get a chance to share what’s going on in your life … but you can also just listen and learn. Participate to whatever degree you feel comfortable.
Yes, everything shared in the group stays within the group. We ask all participants to respect each other’s privacy.
While our facilitators are trained by NAMI, they are not mental health professionals. The group is designed not for therapy, but for peer support.
This group is specifically for family members and friends. Our Connection, Q Connect and Be Herd groups are designed for those who live with mental health conditions.
We’re not against positive affirmations or mantras. That said, this is a group grounded in day-to-day considerations and realities — but determined to maintain hope.
