The curriculum balances education with skill-building, while allowing for time to share individual stories.

Frequently Asked Questions
No doubt, there’s much to consider.
NAMI classes are completely free to participants. We believe everyone should have access to mental health support, regardless of their financial situation.
While most of our presentations and courses are held in-person, we do sometimes offer hybrid or all-virtual arrangements. If you’re looking for a virtual option and we don’t have one at the moment, we can also help you find another NAMI affiliate that is offering something virtually. Please just contact us at 719.473.8477 or send us an email to get the conversation started.
Classes are taught by NAMI-trained volunteer family members who have taken the course themselves. They are not professionals, but rather peers who personally understand the challenges of supporting a loved one with mental illness.
While we acknowledge that some of the information and the class may be helpful for your loved one, this class is specifically for family members. Peer-to-Peer is our class designed for people living with mental health conditions.
A separate NAMI program called Parents Helping Other Parents may be a better fit. But let’s talk about it — just give us a call at 719.473.8477.
