What to expect

Open doors and open hearts

TAG takes the model and spirit of NAMI's Q Connect support group and creates a safe space just for people whose gender falls outside of society's current binary standard.

Peer facilitation

Rather than waste time educating your facilitators, you’ll get right into meaningful conversation.

A comfortable setting

In a world that can feel unwelcoming, TAG promises a space where you can come as you are.

No judgment

You know your choices are valid. Here you can find (and also give!) reinforcement.

All NAMI programs are offered at no cost to participants.

You’ll get a chance to share what’s going on in your life … but you can also just listen and learn. Participate to whatever degree you feel comfortable.

Yes, everything shared in the group stays within the group. We ask all participants to respect each other’s privacy.

NAMI Colorado Springs started TAG in February 2025. It grew out of the nearly two-year-old Q Connect support group for all members of the LGBTQIA2+ community.

TAG groups are led by NAMI volunteers who also identify as trans or nonbinary. All have completed a facilitator training and passed a background screening.
